今年は新型コロナウィルスの影響でしょうね、2022年へ開催延期となり、その代わりにDigital Weekというオンライン形式で11/8~11/16の間に商談会が開催されています。

私も早速参加をして興味深い商品を数点見つけましたよ！
とはいえ、やはり展示会は現物を見て触って、通訳を介してでもメーカーの担当者と直接顔を見て話すのが一番ですね。
商談の温度感も伝わりますし。
美容に携わる商社やメーカーで仕事をしている方には比較的認知度の高いこのCOSMOPROFという展示会
香港以外に イタリア・アメリカ・インドで毎年開催されているようです。
器具から化粧品・ヘアケア・ヘアサロン用・エステサロン用・ネイル・道具類・サプリメント・ホームケア等々、美と健康に関するあらゆるカテゴリーの商品が世界各国から一挙に集結します。日本にはない面白いデザインや発想、コンセプトの商品がたくさんあり、世界で流行しているものもリアルタイムで得ることができます。
とにかく行くたびに色々な発見があり勉強になりとても楽しい展示会なのです。
私が初めてコスモプロフへ視察に行ったのは今からさかのぼること24年前の1997年、それからイタリアや香港へ何度か行きましたが毎回新しい発見があります。
直近の開催では2年前の2019年の11月の香港の視察に行きました。
この時の来場者が3日間で来場者が約40,000人 約3,000社が出展していたそうです。
ガラガラの飛行機に乗って当時デモで揺れ動いていた香港に向かったのを思い出します。
当社においても歴代の先輩方がこの展示会でコンタクトを取ったメーカーさんの商品を日本へ輸入してヒットしたことも数々あり、日本で売れるかもしれない？
そんな金の卵となりうる商品を探しに行くわけであります。
“洗い流さないトリートメント” “アウトバストリートメント”という言葉がまだ日本に定着していなかった1990年代中頃に当社はイタリアから植物性オイルを配合した 洗い流さないトリートメントを輸入販売してヒットしました。
毎回ブログで紹介している通り当社はオリジナルブランド WUAOの発売元として自社で商品を企画して販売しておりますが、一方で商社として国内メーカーさんからの仕入れもしながら、海外からの仕入れも行っております。
頻度は少ないと思いますが、輸入販売を開始した商品もこのブログを通じて紹介させていただく予定です。
新型コロナウィルスが落ち着いて来年あたりは国と国の往来が元通りにできるようになれば3年ぶりに香港に金の卵を探しに行ってみようかと思っています。

This year’s event has been postponed to 2022, probably due to the new coronavirus, and instead a business meeting is being held in an online format called Digital Week from 11/8 to 11/16.

I attended one myself and found a few interesting products!
However, I think it is best to see and touch the actual products and to talk directly with the person in charge of the manufacturer, even if it is through an interpreter.
You can also get enthusiasm of the business negotiations.
This COSMOPROF exhibition is relatively well known to those who work for trading companies and manufacturers involved in the beauty industry.
It seems to be held annually in Italy, the U.S., and India, in addition to Hong Kong.
Products in all categories related to beauty and health, from equipment to cosmetics, hair care, hair salons, esthetic salons, nail care, tools, supplements, home care, etc., are gathered from all over the world. There are many products with interesting designs, ideas, and concepts that are not available in Japan, and you can also get real-time information on what is popular around the world.
Anyway, it is a very enjoyable exhibition where you can discover and learn a lot every time you go.
My first visit to Cosmoprof was 24 years ago in 1997, and since then I have been to Italy and Hong Kong several times, each time making new discoveries.
The most recent event was held two years ago, in November 2019, in Hong Kong, which I visited.
At that time, there were about 40,000 visitors over the three days about and 3,000 companies exhibited.
I remember getting on an airplane with conspicuously empty seats to Hong Kong in turmoil due to demonstrations at the time.
In our company, many of our predecessors have imported products to Japan from manufacturers contacted at this exhibition, and the products have been hits.
We are going to look for such products that could be the golden eggs of the future.
In the mid-1990s, when the terms “no-rinse treatment” and “out-bath treatment” had not yet taken root in Japan, we imported and sold a vegetable oil-based “no-rinse treatment” from Italy that was a hit.
As we introduce in our blog every time, we plan and sell our own products as the distributor of our original brand WUAO, but we also purchase products from domestic manufacturers as well as from overseas as a trading company.
Although it will be infrequent, we plan to introduce products that we have started importing and selling through this blog.
I am thinking of going to Hong Kong for the first time in three years to look for a golden egg if the new coronavirus settles down and the country-to-country traffic can be restored around next year.
