開始早々から想定外のことが次々起こったインドネシアでのヘアカラー講習会
1人目のモデルさんのカラーの仕上がりは前回のブログに書いた通りで・・・

その次ののモデルさんはブリーチをしない状態からのカラー施術だったので問題なく施術が完了しました。
ピンク系だったと思いますがツヤも良くキレイに仕上がりました。
モデルさんもかわいかったのですが顔出しできないのが残念です。
2人の施術が終了したところでお昼の時間です。
現地の講習は1日通して実施され、お昼ご飯は現地代理店が準備します。
インドネシア式のお弁当が配られで皆さん談笑しながらランチブレイクです。
受講者がお弁当を食べ終わったお昼休憩の後半は、代理店の社長による商品の説明のマイクパフォーマンスが始まりました。
美容機器やカットシザー スタイリング剤等々・・お客さんも説明を聞いているのですが、今回はメーカーさんのヘアカラーを主とした講習会な訳で・・・ もちろんこの流れは代理店と当社とメーカーさんで共有したタイムテーブルにはありません(笑) でもなぜかプロジェクターに商品のPRが投影されていて、休憩中のCMみたいなものなんでしょう(笑)
代理店のセールスもサロンさんにべったり引っ付いていていろいろな商品を売り込んでいます。彼らの商魂と熱心さを感じます。
お昼休憩が終わって午後からはパーマ講習です。現地では普及していない技術を広めようということで当時日本で流行していたクリープパーマの講習を行いました。
ただしモデルさんの髪にロットを巻いてパーマをかけるだけでは伝わらないので最初に座学の時間を取ってパーマがかかる理論のところから説明です。
これも日本語からインドネシア語に通訳を介して倍の時間を要して、そこからようやく実技に入ります。
そしてパーマも無事に施術終了です。
ここで3時のおやつの時間です、ワゴンを押した女性が会場の入り口へ
葉っぱに盛られた甘い何か・・・よくわかりませんが皆さん食べてました。
午前中にカラー施術2人 午後にパーマ施術1人の講習を2日間実施したこの講習会
休憩中に受講者の方と話をしましたが、その方は日本製の商品だけを扱っており、日ごろから商品について勉強しているようで、日本のメーカーやカラー剤についてもかなりの知識を持っておられました。現地代理店が教育に力を入れているからなのでしょう。
講習中に気づいたところ・・・
カラーとパーマの講習で受講されているはずなのに、一番関心が高いのはカットかな?と思った瞬間
カラー施術が終わりブローをしているときに講師が少し鋏を使って毛先を調整すると受講者が講師を囲むくらい周り近づいてきてて手元を観察、講師は毛先を調整する程度で鋏を握ったつもりが、その場の空気が”もっともっと”という雰囲気を醸し出しカットの技術も少し話しながら毛先を調整していました(笑)
カットの時の拍手が一番大きかったような(笑)

感謝しかありません。
私にとって貴重な経験となった海外での講習会、想定外のことが次々起こり反省点が多かったですがとても良い勉強になりました。

Hairdressing and Beauty in Asia, Part 7: Color Workshop in Indonesia ③

From the very beginning, unexpected things happened one after another at the hair coloring workshop in Indonesia.
The first model’s color results were as described in my last blog…

The next model had her hair colored without bleaching, so the treatment was completed without any problems.
I think it was a pinkish color, and the luster was good and the finish was beautiful.
The model was cute, but I regret that I can’t show her face.
When the two treatments were finished, it was time for lunch.
The local training is usually conducted throughout the day, and lunch is prepared by the local agency.
Indonesian-style boxed lunches were distributed, and everyone took a lunch break while chatting and laughing.
The second half of the lunch break, after the participants had finished their lunches, began with a microphone performance by the agency’s president explaining the products.
The customers were listening to the explanation about beauty equipment, cutting scissors, styling products, etc… but this time it was a workshop mainly on hair coloring by the hair color manufacturer… Of course, this process was not on the timetable shared by the agency, our company and the manufacturer… (lol) But for some reason, the PR of the products was projected on the projector, and it must have been like a commercial during a break (lol).
The sales representatives were also attached to the salons and were selling a variety of products. I felt their business spirit and enthusiasm.
After the lunch break, we started perm training in the afternoon. In order to spread the use of a technique that was not widely used in the local market, we conducted a course on creep perm, which was very popular in Japan at the time.
However, just curl model’s hair with rods and applying a perm is not enough to get the message across, so we first took time for a classroom lecture to explain the theory behind perms.
This also took twice as long through an interpreter from Japanese to Indonesian, and from there the practical skills finally begin.
And the perm was successfully completed.
Here it was time for a 3 o’clock snack, a woman came pushing a wagon to the entrance of the hall.
Something sweet served on a leaf… I’m not sure what it was, but everyone ate it.
This 2-day workshop consisted of 2 models for color treatment in the morning and 1 model for perm treatment in the afternoon.
During a break, I spoke with one of the participants, who handles only Japanese-made products and seemed to be studying the products on a daily basis, and had a great deal of knowledge about Japanese manufacturers and colorants. This is probably because the local distributor is putting a lot of effort into education.
Something I noticed during the course…
I wondered if the most interesting part of the course for people was cutting in spite of attending a course on color and perms,. The moment I wondered…
When the instructor was blow-drying the hair after coloring, he used the scissors to adjust the tips of the hair, and the students came around him to observe his hand. The atmosphere was “more and more” and he was adjusting the tips of the hair while talking a little about cutting techniques (lol).
I think the applause was the loudest when he cut the hair.
Lastly, the magnificent flowers given to us by the president of the agency.
I can only express my gratitude.
It was a valuable experience for me to attend a training session overseas, and although many unexpected things happened one after another and I had to reflect on many things, it was a very good learning experience.
