ノンシリコンシャンプー全盛の頃は シリコン→悪 ノンシリコン→善 というような印象が自然と出来上がり論争が起きて大手化粧品メーカーさんがシリコン配合に対する声明を出したこともありましたね。しかしあれから時を経て現在も各メーカーさんから発売される商品に普通に配合されていることを考えると、使い勝手や機能性からみてもシリコンは優秀な原料といえると私は思っています。
最近ではアウトパストリートメントとしてナチュラルなオイルがブームとなっていますが髪の質感を上げるためにシリコンが配合されたハイブリットな仕様のものがほとんどです。
そしてシリコン配合とノンシリコンの共存
この状況が出来上がる過程に少ないながらも ”シリコン除去” という機能を持った商品が一役を担ったのでは？ と考えています。
シリコン配合の商品を使用してもその後にシリコンを除去をすれば、その後の施術に影響がない。我々はこの考えをずっと現場にお伝えしながら今までＷＵＡＯ シリコン除去シャンプーを販売してきました。
美容業界に限らず他の業界でも言えることですが、食品業界で例を挙げると栄養価の高いものは確かに体に良いけど、たくさん摂取すると、肥満のリスクがあるというのと同じ理屈で、たくさん摂取したら摂取した分を消費するための対処（運動等）をすればそのリスクは回避できます。だけど、リスク回避の情報は出さずに摂取したら肥満やのリスクがあるというような情報だけが切り取られて一人歩きするとその食品はからだに悪いという印象だけがひとり歩きします。
当時話題になったシリコンに関する論争もこれに近いものがあるような気がしなくもないですね。

We believe that products with “silicone removal” functions played a role in the process of creating this situation, albeit a small one. Even if silicone-containing products are used, if the silicone is removed afterwards, there will be no effect on subsequent treatments.
